Official: New VW NMS Sedan, Beetle, Tiguan and Eos Coming to the States Next Year

Volkswagen will reveal its future plans in a meeting with its 582 U.S. and 130 Canadian dealers that takes place in Atlanta and will also include a drive of more than 700 all-new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta sedans to the company's brand-new $1 billion assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In a statement to the press, the German automaker said it plans to introduce four all-new or refreshed models in 2011 including the NMS mid-size sedan, Beetle, Tiguan and Eos.

Here's what VW said: "In addition to opening the Chattanooga plant in 2011, Volkswagen of America will introduce four all-new or refreshed models – NMS, Beetle, Tiguan and Eos. These vehicles join the 2010 launch of the all-new Jetta and new Touareg. Each of these vehicles is critical to achieving Volkswagen Group's target of selling one million vehicles annually in the US by 2018 (Volkswagen: 800,000; Audi: 200,000)."

No other details were released on the aforementioned models, however, we do know that the NMS mid-size sedan is new and that the Tiguan and Eos will receive a mid-life makeover.

That leaves us with the New Beetle, which has been in the market since 1998 with production of the current model set to cease in 2011. Logic says, VW will present a brand-new version of the retro-styled Beetle, with a teaser concept study possibly making its appearance at an upcoming international motor show such as the LA (November 2010) or Detroit (January 2011) salons.

As always, we'll keep an eye on things and inform you on any new developments.

VW Eos White Night: New Special Edition Model with Contrasting Black Top

Volkswagen seems to have taken the catch phrase 'another day, another special edition' a bit too literally when it comes to the Eos. Following the introduction of the GT Sport and Edition 2010 models as well as the release of a new aero kit -all in about a month's time, the German automaker has now launched yet another special edition version of its compact coupe-convertible model called 'White Night'. This model is all about contrasting colors as the body is white, while elements such as the roof, radiator grille, trim strips and mirror covers finished in "Deep Black Pearlescent."

VW Eos White Night - Carscoop A set of 18-inch "Budapest" wheels partially painted black with a polished finish and the cherry-red LED tail lights round off the exterior changes. To improve the car's handling as well as its stance, VW has equipped the Eos White Night with a sport chassis that lowers the car's ride height by 15mm.

The 'light and dark' color theme continues in the coupe-cabrio's interior with the black nappa leather seats, door and side trim and black steering wheel all featuring light-colored seams. Other changes include the trim strips and radio trim in "Candy White" plus special sill panels lettered with "White Night".

The new Eos White Night is available for order now in Germany with prices starting from €33,140 and can be combined with all engine versions except for the range-topping 3.2-liter V6.

VW Releases Subtle Aero Kit for Eos Coupe-Convertible

Individual tuners aren't the only ones releasing sporty accessories these days; many automakers like Volkswagen have also jumped in the tuning bandwagon. The German firm has just revealed a new aero kit for its Golf-based hardtop-convertible, the Eos. The package consists of a front apron, side skirts and a rather subtle boot lid spoiler. Certainly not as a aggressively styled as other bodykit proposals, but not everyone wants their car to look like it's about to compete in a 'Fast and Furious' competition. Buyers can also complete the cabrio's looks with a set of alloy wheels.

2011 Volkswagen Eos Facelift Unveiled ahead of LA Show Debut

Four years after it hit the market, Volkswagen is giving the Eos coupe-cabriolet its first cosmetic makeover. The facelifted model, which will have its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late November before going on sale in January 2011, receives an updated design and a host of new features.

The exterior restyling brings the Eos in line with VW's latest models such as the new Touareg, Passat B7 and Jetta. At the front, there's a new, and less prominent, upper grille which is now completely separated from the lower. Also new are the headlamps that incorporate horse-shoe shaped LED running lights, the bumper design and the more chiseled side mirrors.

Out back, the changes include a revised bumper housing a diffuser and new, rectangular-shaped tail lamps with LED technology.

Inside the cabin, the changes are really rather difficult to spot, being limited to some fresh colors, new controls for the air conditioning system and additional features such as the keyless locking and starting system, a new multi-function color display and the remote control for the retractable hardtop.

Aside from the use of BlueMotion technology with a start-stop system and regenerative braking on the 140HP 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine that reduces fuel consumption by 0.7 lt/100 km, bringing it down to 4.8 lt/100 km [49 mpg US], there aren't any other changes under the hood.

More details on the 2011 VW Eos will be released at the car's LA Sow premiere in November.
