Alpina B7: First Photo of Bi-Turbocharged BMW 7-Series
The first official picture of the all-new Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo has made its way into the internet prior to the sport saloon's world premiere in Geneva next week. Alpina's latest proposal is based on the new 7-Series and it uses a modified version of BMW's factory 4.4-liter twin-turbochargedV87 engine developed to produce 507-horsepower and 700Nm of torque.
The result is a zero to 100 km/h (62mph) acceleration time of 4,7 seconds while the car's top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h or 174mph. Alpina has not issued any details yet, but we gather that the B7 Bi-Turbo will also feature upgrades to the suspension and braking system.
Visually, the B7 has been enhanced with Alpina's signature front lip spoiler, a boot spoiler and a set of multispoke alloy wheels.

New BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo with 214HP and 52.3MPG available in the UK
The new BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo saloon has arrived on UK showroom floors priced at £29,950 when equipped with a manual gearbox and at £31,585 when opted with an automatic transmission. Based on the recently facelifted BMW 3-Series sedan, the Alpina D3 utilizes a modified version of the 123d's 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine producing an output of 214HP at 4,100 rpm and an M3-beating 450Nm (332 lbs)of torque at 2,000 - 2,500 rpm.
Alpina claims that the D3 Bi-Turbo saloon can reach a top speed of 152mph (245 km/h) while performing the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in 6.9 seconds. Not bad at all especially when you take into consideration that manual version returns a combined economy figure (EU cycle) of 52.3mpg UK (that's 5.4 lt /100km or 43.6 mpg US) with 143 g/km of CO2.
