Mooneyes dragster (replica of the original that stays on display at the Garlits museum)
For a video of it in England in 63: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/02/mooneyes-dragster-at-silverstone-1963.html
Amazing what I found in the classifieds

Bill Stroppe's winning race car, (if you don't know who he is: http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/2008/10/01/hmn_feature16.html )
I didn't waste my time showing you all the ads selling cars that were freatured in Hot Rod, most as cover cars and show winners... there were so many.
the Moonliner was a standout among the racing vehicles at the Grand National Roadster

For a couple photos of it in a garage: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/04/website-of-variety-of-car-and.html
images from different sources, but were taken the same day of the Moonliner and dragster

The cover story isn't in this issue.. the pages were printed wrong and page 62 wasn't included to explain how to buy Dean's transporter

The new owner of the transporter, (and finder of unique autos) Goeff has a copy of the Robert Lee Behme "$16,000 Transporter" article, the pages missing from my issue, and let me share them with you. Thanks to Dan of Hemmings http://blog.hemmings.com/ for connecting us!
